Getting the right advice
Helping you determine which adaptations are right for you
Why adapt your vehicle?
You might want to consider making adaptations to your vehicle if you are finding it harder to carry out everyday tasks, for example:
- Getting in and out of the vehicle
- Lifting mobility equipment (e.g. wheelchairs/scooters)
- Operating the pedals, handbrake, steering wheel, indicators, etc.
Deciding what you need
The service we provide is part of a wider picture and, at Ergomobility, we take time to understand our customers’ needs as a whole so that we can offer support in a way that is meaningful to them.
If you aren’t sure where to start, call us for advice. We are experts in our field and, as such, have established connections with a wide range of industry professionals, so if adaptations are not the best solution we can still advise on where to turn to for guidance.
Our assessments
Our ethos centres around our clients being cared for and considered, whatever the service we provide. We know how disruptive it can be for clients who have adaptations fitted to their vehicle, only to find that they do not fully answer their requirements – and this is why we always work to understand our customers’ needs as fully as possible… from the very start.
Our assessment service allows us to gain a deeper understanding of our client’s needs, so we can offer advice that is tailored specifically to every individual’s needs. Clients can try out vehicle adaptations first-hand and explore the options that are available to them, enabling them to determine which will provide the best solution for them.

New to driving controls?
If you require a driving assessment, driving lessons with a disabled driving instructor, or a ‘fitness to drive’ assessment, we can also advise on these services and point you in the direction of your nearest assessment centre.
Funding for adaptations
If you are looking for help with funding for vehicle adaptations, some organisations, such Motability, offer means-tested charitable grants, which can contribute to the costs. Other charities and organisations that may be able to offer financial help can be found using the ‘Grants Search’ tool at Turn2Us.
